For My Attorney A Guided Journal for Plaintiff Clients
For My Attorney is a unique guided journal that bridges the gap between lawyer and client at one of the most critical phases of litigation: the beginning. Created specifically for plaintiff attorneys, this journal helps your client open up—about what happened, who they are, and how their life has been changed.
- It doesn’t replace conversation, but it starts it.
- This journal blends practical prompts (like those found in early discovery) with deeper, more reflective questions:
- How would your best friend describe you?
- How would your worst enemy describe you?
- What moments in your life made you feel most proud—before and after the incident?
- The goal is to help your client feel seen—and to give you the tools to present the most vivid, compelling portrait possible when pursuing general damages.
Prepared in anticipation of litigation. Designed to start the attorney-client relationship.
About the Author
Amanda Carmody is a plaintiff’s attorney with a deep commitment to telling her clients’ stories with empathy, clarity, and strength. From the start of her career, Amanda has been drawn to the human side of litigation. After college, she worked at a personal injury firm representing individuals who had been catastrophically harmed. She saw firsthand how powerful and healing it can be to hold wrongdoers accountable. That experience led her to law school, and to a practice built around advocating for people when they need it most.
Amanda has represented individuals in personal injury, medical malpractice, trucking, civil rights, and wrongful death cases. She believes that effective litigation includes connection, compassion, and making space for people to feel seen and heard. Her clients aren’t case numbers or exhibits; they’re whole people with lives that deserve to be understood.
She created For My Attorney as a tool for fellow plaintiff lawyers who want to go deeper with their clients—to open up conversations, strengthen relationships, and ultimately present more authentic and powerful general damages at trial. Her hope is that this journal helps lawyers do their best work, and that it helps their clients find not just justice, but their voice and closure in the legal process.
